Fever is a medical condition characterized by an increase in body temperature above the normal range, which is typically between 97°F (36.1°C) and 99°F (37.2°C). It is usually a sign that the body is trying to fight off an infection or illness and may be caused due to infection, heat exhaustion, immunological reactions like autoimmune disorders, allergic reactions, or medications. The common symptoms include sweating, chills, headache, muscle ache, weakness, loss of appetite, dehydration, increased heart rate, irritability etc.
Prolonged high temperature may also be a sign of some chronic diseases, and hence medical intervention is required. Sarvodaya's general physicians first completely evaluate the condition by diagnostics tests and then provide the treatment as per the severity of the condition. In cases of mild Fever, medication and some preventive measures may be offered, while in chronic cases where the fever and its symptoms keep surging, we provide an in-patient admission facility with provisions for vaccination, IV fluids and other treatments. Our dedicated department for infectious diseases deals with complex cases of fever caused by unknown sources, infections, viral fever and more.
