Overview
Knee Replacement, also known as Knee Arthroplasty, is a surgical procedure in which damaged or worn-out parts of the knee joint are replaced with artificial parts called Prosthetics. The knee joint supports the weight of the body and allows movement such as walking, running, and jumping. When the knee becomes damaged either through injury or the natural wear and tear of ageing, it can cause pain and decreased mobility, impacting the quality of life. A knee replacement may be necessary to restore function and relieve pain in such cases.
At Sarvodaya’s Centre for Orthopaedics, we provide facilities for total Knee Replacements and partial Knee Replacements. Total knee replacements involve replacing all three compartments of the knee, while partial knee replacements only replace a portion of the knee, typically just one compartment. During the surgery, the damaged parts of the knee are removed, and the artificial components are inserted and attached to the remaining bone. The knee is then positioned and checked for proper alignment and stability.
We house revolutionary technology, North India’s First Fully Active Robot (Cuvis) for Joint Replacement, assuring sub-mm accuracy, less bone & blood loss, maximising the longevity of the implant with quicker recovery that allows the patient to walk on the day of the surgery.
At the department, we ensure optimum care during the rehabilitation and recovery process after the surgery.
