Paediatric Cardiac Surgeries

Congenital Heart Defects

Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs) are present at birth and can cause rapid heartbeat, breathing issues, poor growth, weakness, and even life-threatening complications.

The Gap Between Diagnosis & Treatment

Every year, nearly 2 lakh children are born with CHD, but only about 27,000 surgeries are performed. Low awareness, limited specialised centres, and financial constraints drive this gap. Without treatment, CHDs can be fatal-yet timely intervention has a success rate of over 97%.

Nanhi Dhadhkan Programme

Through the Nanhi Dhadhkan Programme, Sarvodaya's Paediatric Cardiac Sciences & Surgery unit has healed 1,500+ young hearts through minimally invasive and conventional procedures.

With more financial aid and partnerships, we can expand care, reach more children, and ensure every young heart beats strong and healthy.

Cochlear Implant Surgeries

Cochlear Implant

A cochlear implant is a small electronic device that helps children who are profoundly deaf or mute hear by directly stimulating the auditory nerve

The Challenge

In India, around 291 per million children are born deaf and mute, yet only one-third receive timely treatment. Lack of awareness, unnoticed symptoms, and financial constraints remain major barriers.

Nanhi Sargam Programme

At Sarvodaya, with support from NGOs and donors, we have provided 400+ free cochlear implant surgeries, giving children the ability to hear, speak, learn, and live fuller lives. Post-surgery, our audiologists and speech therapists support children with over three years of therapy to develop clear speech.

Despite progress, many children still lack access due to limited resources. With extended financial support, we can reach more children, transform more lives, and help every young voice be heard.

Thousands of children still die from cancers or lack of blood transfusion facilities due to limited awareness, inadequate centres, and high treatment costs.

Nanhi Zindagi Programme

Sarvodaya's Haematology & BMT Centre has successfully treated 350+ children suffering from blood disorders and cancers. Our expert oncologists also conduct awareness and screening programs in India and abroad.

With greater financial and community support, we can expand access, perform more life-saving BMTs and procedures, and give countless children a brighter, healthier future.
