Overview
Cornea is the transparent layer of the eye that protects the iris and pupil while allowing light to pass through. The cornea may get injured or need replacement as a result of any disease. In such a case, a Corneal Transplant may be advised by your doctor at Sarvodaya Hospital. In a cornea transplant, donor corneal tissue is used to replace a portion of the patient's own cornea. Sometimes this procedure is referred to as Keratoplasty.
Before developing any treatment plans, our team of experienced eye specialists at Sarvodaya Hospital assesses the patient's condition.
At Sarvodaya, we provide Corneal Transplantation as a daycare procedure with the option of discharging the patient on the same day as the surgery with the proper instructions for aftercare. Patients recovering from surgery are regularly cared after by qualified cornea specialists.
