Sarvodaya’s Blood Centre is a state-of-the-art facility committed to delivering round-the-clock high-quality services, by assuring the safe supply of quality blood and its products to the patients, maintaining all hygiene standards.
Our Blood Centre is licensed by Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), India.
The department is backed by highly competent professionals, trained in transfusion medicine along with qualified nursing and technical staff who leverage high-end modalities and equipment for safe management and delivery of blood components.
We provide highly reliable blood transfusion services to patients, that include emergency and trauma patients, road accident victims, thalassemia children, cancer patients and patients undergoing various surgeries and procedures where blood loss was anticipated.
Blood Components Available at the centre include:
- Packed Red Blood Cells (PRBC)
- Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP)
- Random Platelet Concentrate
- Apheresis platelets
- Special components like leukoreduced blood component and irradiated components
We also provide free blood and blood transfusion facilities to a number of thalassemia patients referred to us by NGOs.
The department is highly acclaimed for:
- Precise ABO Typing (Blood Group Test) and Cross Matching Test using ‘Column Agglutination Method’ - One of the advanced technologies for Blood Compatibility Testing
- Peripheral blood stem cell harvesting to support stem cell (bone marrow) transplantation unit
- Apheresis platelets or single donor platelets collection (blood collected from a single donor with an automated cell separator) to reduce disease transmission, and alloimmunisation
- Huge capacity to store 1000 fresh frozen plasma, 50-60 platelet concentrate and approximately 500 PRBCs at a time
- Rapid response to urgent requests for blood components
- Checking pre-transfusion samples and requests
- Strict pre-donation screening of blood for detecting Transfusion Transmissible Infections (TTI)
